Following God’s will is not always easy and often it tests the strength of our spirit. By ourselves, we would utterly fail, but with God, we can do anything.
Here is a short prayer adapted from The Catholic’s Pocket Prayer Book, asking God for strength and guidance.
O Lord, Jesus Christ, your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
I offer myself in humble submission to do your will today.
Confirm my soul with strength from above,
that I may bear with a true Christian patience,
all the uneasiness, pains, disquiets and difficulties of today
and that I may cheerfully accept them as coming from your hand.
Preserve me from all temptations
and be my defense against all the assaults of the enemy.
Guide me along the right path today,
ready and willing to do anything for your greater glory.
Amen.
